Plenty of variety at Wakari
Wakari continues to deliver a wide variety of learning opportunities for its pupils.
As I often write, one of the pleasures of my job is my ability to get around hubs and see what is happening for learners. This has been more limited of late as our syndicates operate in bubbles, but at times I have been able to catch up with our learners. Our staff, who are coping extremely well, continue to deliver fabulous programmes for our tamariki.
We have a couple of extra programmes running at the moment, one with Miss Dick in the middle syndicate leading a group of children looking for solutions to everyday challenges through the use of technology. The other is a Water study led by Mrs Gribben with a group of our senior students with science being the leading focus of the endeavour.
Generally, our pupils continue to do what we would expect from them, I would ask that parents carefully monitor the use of social media, which many of our children are on although they are not yet old enough, and also monitor the content your child is viewing on youtube.
A reminder to whanau that school will be closed for learners this coming Tuesday as we will be having the 5th of our 8 awarded Teacher Only Days.
Thanks to everyone for your support throughout these times.
Regards
Chris
