The Writing's On The Wall (actually- drawings!)

Deborah Storer —

When you think of Dunedin Street Art it's usually Vogel St. Think again, it may need to be Room 8 Wakari School.

This term we have been looking at New Zealand Artist Reuben Patterson. We started off by looking at the koru shape and then learning how to draw it and how to join them to make interesting art pieces. Room 8 loved working co-operatively on the whiteboards to create their shared artworks.  In the classroom the children made their own koru pictures using black vivid, dye and then glitter. You may have seen Reuben Patterson's glittered work in the Art Gallery.  The children did a great job and are proud of their work.
