Stock the Bus

Family Works —

Support the Foodbank with tinned food or toys.

Family Works runs Dunedin’s busiest emergency foodbank and are looking to support over 200 families with children this Christmas. Many families will have little to celebrate on Christmas morning so the Stock the Bus appeal aims to provide some Christmas joy to Dunedin’s most vulnerable children.

'Stock the Bus' is a Christmas appeal that is being organised by ‘The Breeze’ radio station and Ritchies Buses to support the foodbank. This year Wakari School is taking part in the appeal which will take place on the morning of Friday 24 November. The radio bus will visit schools that are taking part. Damian Newell will be broadcasting from the bus, and children who have something to donate will be able to visit the bus and hand over their contribution.

Last year over 1000 new and near new toys were donated and over 2000 food items (including a few Christmas treats).

We invite children to bring along new or near new toys or non-perishable food items eg tinned food on or before Friday 24th November to donate to the appeal.
