'Ed'ucation at Wakari

Chris Smith —

Last evening the Board got to experience a bit of what the kids have been doing over the term

We were lucky enough to have Mrs Ollerenshaw, Miss Barton and Miss Storer along with the Board Staff representative Mrs Brown facilitate a session in the Room 4 Maker Space.  We worked with BeeBots, Edison Robots, DoInk and Makey Makey so the board could feel the changing face of education at Wakari.

Also at last nights Board Meeting Mr Cameron Grindlay was nominated and appointed as Deputy Chair and Mrs Rebecca Swindells was co-opted onto the Board. Rebecca has been a key member of out Hautu group and she brings a number of skill sets to aid us as a Board of Trustees.

Thanks to those who have returned parent interview slips. Also to those that have returned the 'staying at school or going home' form for Monday the 9th of April. We again look forward to a large turnout of parents in the final week of the term.

Plenty of nasty bugs around at the moment so I hope you and your whanau enjoy the Easter break, which will be a chance to spend time together with friends (perhaps with Ed) and an opportunity for the wee ones to recharge the batteries for the couple of weeks to go before we conclude term 1 for 2018.

As always thanks for your support of both your little ones and the school.

Regards Chris
