Are your children keen on trout fishing?

Otago Fish & Game’s popular Take A Kid Fishing events return to Southern Reservoir on September 17, 18, 24 and 25 this year.

They have been running these free events for 12 years.

Take a Kid Fishing is aimed at encouraging primary school-aged children to get outside and experience fishing. They also focus on environmental awareness and help bring the community to get together.

Fishing licences are not necessary for the event as Fish & Game will issue a free group licence to cover all participants while fishing.

Due to popular demand, participants may register for one day only. Numbers will be limited to 120 children per event.

Spare fishing rods will be available along with experts to help kids get started. Parents or caregivers must be present to supervise children.
