Fun with Water Wheels.

Anna Lawson —

The Junior Hub, had fun creating Water Wheels as part of our ongoing unit about water, and the effect it has on our environment.

The Room 1,2 and 3 hub were lucky enough to have Pip  come into our class with a variety of materials for the children to create their own Water Wheels. They were given, plastic spoons, ice-block sticks, straws, foam and rods to make their own Water Wheels.  The children were left to their own devices to create their own inventions.  They were then able to test the Water Wheels under the hose to see how they worked. Most of the children then decided how they could improve their initial models and went on to creative a more effective design. All of the children enjoyed the morning immensely and worked well together coming up with the most effective Water Wheels for the task.  A fun morning for the entire Hub.
