The End of a Fantastic Term!

Chris Smith —

Congratulations to our learners, staff and community for a term full of opportunities for our pupils.

The Junior crew have completed 2 of their 3 performances and I congratulate them on their fine efforts. Hours of rehearsal, preparation of costumes and music, and a script written by Miss Storer made for entertaining viewing.

This Friday we will be supporting Loud Shirt Day. A gold coin donation would be appreciated and all the money goes towards assisting kids with hearing impairments.

Another highlight of the term was the Fair held recently. Again on behalf of the kids at Wakari I thank the organising committee for their hard work and commitment to the endeavour. The Board and senior leaders will now work through an application to the Otago Community Trust "Learning Impact Fund" to add to the pot as we move towards the purchase of furniture throughout the school to assist us in our Learning Environments.

Swimming Pool keys will be available to purchase from the office after Labour Weekend. Costings will be similar to last year and key holders must be parents/caregivers of children  who attend Wakari School.

I wish all of you an enjoyable couple weeks with your tamariki and look forward to a full term of opportunities to round out 2017.

Regards Chris
