Junior Folk Dance Evening

Anna Lawson —

The Junior Folk Dance evening held on Tuesday night was a resounding success.

The Junior Syndicate has been working hard on their dancing skills all term.  The classes worked co-operatively,  creating some innovative folk dances.  All the children were very excited about the prospect of performing for their families.  A big thank you to all those families who came along to join in the fun and make it the successful evening it was.

Rooms 6 and 7 presented a fun rendition of the Carnavilto, which the children performed  so well.  They later managed to coax their parents,  brothers and sisters and even grandparents onto the dance floor with the Bird Dance.

Rooms 8 and 9 were on the dance floor next with a fabulous Rabbit Polka.  The children were obviously having a lot of fun with all their super moves and actions.  The families  later joined them in the Hokey Tokey.

Last but definitely not least to perform, were Rooms 4 and 16 who presented the Heel Toe Polka.  The children danced very enthusiastically with their partners.  The families did an amazing job when they were pulled up to join the polka line.

There were smiles galore as the evening came to a close.   All the children were rightly proud of their efforts.   Everyone obviously had a lot of fun.
