Three action-packed weeks to go.

Chris Smith —

As we approach the final 3 weeks of the year learning remains the focus at Wakari School.

After casting my eye across the remainder of the term on my calendar it is refreshing to see that a wide and varied curriculum remains the focus at Wakari.

Recently my attention was drawn towards the front page of the Otago Daily Times and to the article around the shortfall in funding from our Ministry and our local Intermediate stating the need for fees and donations to run what we consider a world class education system. I wholeheartedly agree with Mr Hunter and his statements and although Wakari does not have that level of outstanding debtors we do appreciate the many that contribute to our programmes.

On Friday we farewelled Mrs Georgie Bond from Room 7 and we wish her, Matt and Benny all the best for the forthcoming birth of their child. Jo Brooks has replaced Mrs Bond in the classroom for the remainder of 2017, welcome aboard Jo.

I hope the recent spell of fine weather continues and look forward to your continued support for the remainder of the year.

Kind Regards

Chris Smith
