Lilly's Dad, Malcolm Diack, introduced Room 1 to a new experience... edible locusts!

Last Tuesday morning for newspaper news, Lilly shared an article about her dad from the front page of the Star. Malcolm Diack is New Zealand's only locust farmer. He supplies Dunedin's top restaurants with these intriguing creatures. Room 1 was excited to find out more, and decided they would like to try eating some "bugs".  Lilly asked her Dad and Malcolm was really happy to share his passion with us. He bought in some live locusts of various sizes and some deep fried critters. The Room 1 children were super adventurous and most children had a taste. They taste like chips! They are just like chicken! Not only are they good for the environment, they taste great! We are big fans of  Otago Locusts!
