Great work from our PALs!

Katy Fitzgerald —

Our Physical Activity Leaders (PALs) have been busy running fun activities for the students at Wakari School.

On days when we are able to have lunch outside, our PALs are always on the go organising lunchtime activities for students to join in. The PALs have also been running activities for Senior Hub students during our Friday Project sessions.

Some of our favourite Friday Project games have been 1. dodgeball, 2. a pyramid game where you play Paper, Scissors, Rock to get to the top of the pyramid and 3. Golden Child (a basketball game).

Here are some reviews from students involved:

We organised the pyramid game with Paper, Scissors, Rock and we also had a hula hoop competition at the end. It went well. The kids really enjoyed dodgeball and I think it was the game we enjoyed the most at the end - Lara and Marnie

It has been really fun, especially when we play dodgeball. It has been fun playing new games with the PALs. When it has rained, we have made PE courses using the Taleblazer app - Aleija

We've enjoyed the Friday PE sessions. Tom thought playing dodgeball was fun. Crew's favourite game was Golden Child. It was great for the PALs to help us with the games. Thanks to the PALs for setting up all of the games for us - Crew and Tom

I liked the PE rotations that we did because we got to try out different games. I also liked playing the game Doctor Dodgeball because it was really fun - Olive

I liked how the PALs got to choose the games that we ran and we got to work with lots of different kids. We got to work with other PALs too which was good, not just the PALs we work with at lunchtime. When it was raining we still got to do fitness by making a Taleblazer fitness track using a cellphone - Ora

Well done Wakari Pals!
