Friday Project

Carolyn Robins —

Friendship bracelets and orienteering were two of the options our senior syndicate tamariki could choose for Friday Project.

Friendship bracelets

We were lucky enough to have Jasmine and Marcella come in and help some of our tamariki make friendship bracelets. Children got to choose their favourite colours then learnt how to tie the knots to make a bracelet. Each week there was a different type of bracelet to have a go at making. Ka pai - this was tricky!

Orienteering

The tamariki who chose orienteering spent the first two sessions using TaleBlazer to follow trails, and they made their own challenges around Wakari School.  If you want to have a go at one of the games they have created themselves you can download the TaleBlazer app and try these codes!

For the next two sessions they had orienteering challenges including following a map around Wakari streets answering questions at different points, and then tackling the permanent orienteering course at Ross Creek. Well done, there was a lot of tricky navigation and hills to climb!
