Senior Syndicate Road Safety Project Entry Event
On Friday of Week 1 we had a special visit from Constable Ross Greer and Mrs Gribben to launch our project for Term 2. Read what happened from the children's recounts below!
In the Senior hub we have been working on our new topic which is road safety. On Friday 28th April, Constable Ross came to teach us about road safety which is really important to know. It was good that Constable Ross came because he seemed to know a lot. He Showed us a little clip about important rules you should know if you bike, scooter or walk to get to places. This term, we are going to be making creations that could make school areas safer.

On Friday, the Senior Hub learnt about road safety. We watched a video that told us about the walking school bus and about blind driveways. Constable Ross told us that people go on their phone when they're driving and they might crash because their eyes are not on the road. People also need to be careful around schools because they go so quick they might hit someone.

We all walked into the hall wondering what our topic was. Then everybody sat down in our classes. The screen shot on. It was about road safety. I stopped wondering and listened. It was about how dangerous blind driveways are and how to keep safe. Then Mrs Gribben talked about the parking issues we have. After Mrs Gribben finished, Constable Ross talked about ways we can stop parking hazards like making tickets. He talked about a crash he had but luckily nobody got hurt. Soon we all left the hall with a good idea of what our project was about.

On Friday at school at about midday, the entire Senior Syndicate went down to the hall.
When we were in the hall we watched a video about road safety. After that we heard from Mrs Gribben about how we need to make a product to remind people about road safety.
Then a policeman named Constable Ross told us somethings about road safety like not speeding.
It was very informative and interesting.
