Room 14 Write Kennings Poems

Carolyn Robins —

Room 14 writers have been busy creating kennings poems. These poems are riddles which describe something without saying what it is.

We began by working with a partner to write kennings poems about different animals.  The poems are a list of four (or more!) descriptions and each description has only two words joined with a hyphen.  Then we read them out for the class to guess.  Can you figure out what these animals are?
