Opportunities abound

Chris Smith —

Wakari learning and teaching is well underway with lots of opportunities for our Happy Confident Learners.

Our School roll currently sits at 316 and we are in the process of hiring a teacher to work in the collaborative Room 6 and 7 space. This person will start at the beginning of Term 2. Ros Moore, who taught  in that area in  term 4  2016, will be teaching part time in these rooms starting on Monday 27th March until the end of Term 1 as well as doing some extra reading support for our Junior Syndicate.

This evening we have our Whanau Hui, 5:30pm-8:00pm, we hope to see all our Maori families coming along to share thoughts and Kai.

Our Parent-Teacher interviews will be held in week 10 of the Term on Monday the 3rd and Tuesday the 4th of April. Again I am sure we will see a continued high level of interest from our Parent group. A note for this will be out next week.

In Week 2 of the 2nd Term we will have the Education Review Office visiting our School. We look forward to them coming in and seeing Wakari School in action. It will be great to get some feedback around how the School has progressed over the past 3 years.

School swimming gets underway shortly with the Senior Syndicate starting next week and the Juniors and Middles using the final fortnight with JC swim school. The sustained period is where you will see actual noticeable improvement from our swimmers.

Regards Chris
