Room 7 ANZAC Diamante Poems - Lest We Forget

To remember ANZAC day for 2022, children in the Room 6/7 hub created powerful ANZAC Diamante poems.

In the senior syndicate we have been building our skills in writing "deeper features". The children are aiming to hook readers and keep them entertained. To build knowledge of strong language and how we can structure writing, the children created the below ANZAC poems. They had to brainstorm strong nouns, verbs and adjectives that followed the ANZAC theme and then add them to the poem template. We learnt that less can be more! These skills are feeding into our new PBL Storytelling unit for the term "I Am A Legend". Tino Pai tamariki!
