BYOD for Year 5 and 6 children.

We are very excited about this initiative! Already a number of children in the Senior Syndicate have brought their own Chromebook to school.

This initiative is completely voluntary and only for Year 5 and 6 children.

BYOD has many benefits:

• More children have access at technology time.
• Increase children's self management skills.
• Prepares our children for Year 7 and 8.

Some may have questions or concerns about BYOD:

Does this mean more screen time? No. More children have screen time in a session, not added screen time in the day.

Does this mean my child does less handwriting? No. This remains the same.

Would this create inequality? No. Just the opposite. More devices mean more children using technology at the same time.

Why Chromebooks? They are far easier to setup and can be managed by administrators to provide a safe environment.
