Diverse opportunities for our Learners
What a great start to our 3rd term, the opportunities our learners are recieving are second to none.
I and our Deputy Principal Stacey Gribben attended a seminar recently lead by Doctor Lester Flockton. It was both reassuring and thought-provoking as he led us into the post-National Standards era by taking us back to refocus on our guiding document the New Zealand Curriculum that was released in 2007. This gives us scope now to look at the whole child across their time at Wakari, I believe that we are doing this better and better every day.
There has been no shortage of variety for our learners in the early part of this term. Great to see children so engaged in our programmes within classrooms and also, with the improved weather, children out and about competing at the different sporting events. As always thanks for your continued support with coaching and transport.
As a Staff, we continue with our Project Based Learning professional development and have begun to look at what this will mean across our curriculum delivery in all areas. We have been especially fortunate to have Pip Dick, the Cluster facilitator in and about school at least once a fortnight working with staff and pupils.
