The children in the Junior Hub got to explore with Pip using the Bee Bots. The Bee Bots are simple robots that the children programme to move in different directions.

As part of our technology based challenges, we had all the children in the Room's 1, 2 and 3 hub working with the Bee Bot Robots.  Initially the children were shown how to move the robots in different directions.  Many of the children have used the robots before and they took to the challenge very quickly.  The older children in the hub, helped the younger children who had not used the robots.  The initial challenge was to move the robots free flow across the floor.  The children quickly mastered this task, so moved on to more complicated programming to move the robots through a chart numbered 1 to 10.  The idea is by programming these robots the children are being introduced to basic coding.  The children loved this activity and worked so well together, taking turns and discussing together how they could achieve their goals.
