Thanks for a successful year for our learners

Chris Smith —

It was great to see so many of you last night at our Community BBQ hosted by the Board.

We followed the BBQ with our final Board Meeting for the year at which Mike Restall our Board Chair led the meeting for the last occasion. I would like to thank Mike for his work for Wakari School over a number of years. Mike is not yet leaving us as he is heavily involved in a couple of property projects and would like to see these through to their conclusion. This alone speaks volumes for Mike.

Tomorrow, End of Year Reports will come home with your child. Take time to celebrate the success your child has had across 2017.

This time in a week we will have our new furniture arrive and moved into 2018 Hubs, an exciting time for the kids and staff. Thanks again to the Home and School for your work for this project and the many other avenues you have supported the school with this year.

48 Keys have been purchased for the school pool by Wakari families to date. If you would like to purchase a key you will need to do so before school ends at lunchtime next Friday.

Significant planning by Hills Cluster Principals has been ongoing for our 3 year Project Based Learning professional development programme that gets underway in 2018. Again, it is an exciting time for our staff and learners as we continue on our Future Focused Education theme.

This evening we have the Year 6 Leavers event and for those families who are now exiting the School, I hope you and your child/ren take away fond memories of your time at Wakari.

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to Wakari School in 2017 and I wish you and your whanau a safe and happy Christmas.

Kind Regards

Chris
