Principal's Post

Stacey Gribben —

This week brings us to the end of a fabulous Term 1.

Term 1 has been a term of great learning, fun activities, and establishing relationships and friendships. Tamariki have been learning about their place in the world, had swimming lessons, visits from the Art Gallery, as well as many more exciting learning opportunities.

This term we farewelled one of our learning assistants, Paula McGookin. Paula has been a much valued member of staff at Wakari School for more than 7 years. We are sad to say goodbye to Paula but realise that she has a wonderful opportunity in her new position. We thank her for her contribution to Wakari and wish her all the very best.

We welcome our newest staff member, Adele Robinson, who has been appointed to a learning assistant position. In week 2, term 2 we will also welcome Abbie Laughton who will work mornings in the New Entrant hub with Judith Stanbridge and Georgie Bond. As new entrant numbers build, Abbie will teach full time in Room 2 in term 3. We are thrilled to have Abbie and Adele (pictured above), join the Wakari team and wish them all the best.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone in the Wakari School community for their support of our school. We are extremely lucky to have so many people that contribute to make our school thrive. I am very aware and appreciative of the support we receive.

Have a wonderful holiday break and see you in term 2.
