Winter has arrived

Chris Smith —

Thanks for the support around the Snow day recently. It is always a tricky call but the Board and Principal will do what they believe is best for the safety of its students and staff.

Thanks to all the helpers that 'produced' 1500 dozen cheese rolls recently at Balmacewan Intermediate. It takes a massive amount of organising to sell the rolls, get helpers, make the rolls and get them to the right people. Thanks also to all those families that supported the Home and School by selling the Cheese Rolls. Perfect weather currently to enjoy them.

It is my pleasure to announce 2 recent new employment decisions made by the Board. Firstly welcome to Mr. Scott Lane who will be joining Mrs. Stanbridge and her team in the New Entrant / Year 1 Hub. Mr. Lane will operate in Room 7 and will begin in the last two weeks of this term. Also recently appointed was Delwynne Robertson to the Office Administrator position. Delwynne is coming on board with the pending retirement of the wonderful Glenda Sargeant.

As you may be aware Paid Union Meetings are happening for teachers around the country. A note will come home next week outlining arrangements for that day. In short, we will remain open that afternoon and will provide supervision for pupils who remain at school, however we would appreciate it if other arrangements can be made for your children for the afternoon of 28 June.

Keep safe and warm and thanks again for the support.

Regards Chris
