SPCA and DCC visit Wakari School

Charlotte Ford —

Read about the visit to the Middle Syndicate.

This term the middles are learning about safety and respect for animals. We have been lucky enough to get some very special visitors in. Our first visitor was from the Dunedin City Council, Roz brought along her two lovely dogs to teach us all how to be safe around dogs. Some highlights from this visit were:

"I liked how Dust was wearing the goggles" -Lucca. "My favourite part was when you taught us how to approach a dog" -Tayla."My favourite part was when Dust sang" - Maddy.
"My favourite part was when Dust showed his trick; Roz said 1, 2, 3, poo and when he moved there was a poo underneath him" - Tyler.
Our second guest was from the SPCA. Margery came along with her special friend to teach us about how to care for animals. Some highlights from this visit were:
"I liked how Margery let us pat her dog around the circle"- Joey. "I liked when the dog lay on me for some pats"- Ruby. "I liked patting the dog, I learnt that to look after a pet you needed to give it water, food and a place to sleep" - Lara.
A big thank you to Margery and Roz for coming along.
