Runners perform admirably at Cluster Cross Country Champs

On Monday 14th August the Hills Cluster Cross Country was held at Balmacewen Intermediate. The weather was drizzly at the start but improved, and the course was nice and muddy in different parts.

We had some great performances from Wakari kids. Lachie Davies won the Year 4 boys race, Jack Keen won the Year 6 boys race, and Hayley Ward finished 2nd in the Year 5 girls race. 

Other kids to qualify for the Otago Primary School Cross Country Champs by finishing in the Top 10 were:

Year 4 Girls - Adelie Guergoua 6th, Janet Cikamatana 7th, Shalia Rowe 9th

Year 4 Boys - Lachie Davies 1st, Ruben Karawana 9th

Year 5 Girls - Hayley Ward 2nd

Year 6 Girls - Indi Ivamy 8th

Year 6 Boys - Jack Keen 1st, Tom Dangerfield 6th.

Well done to all those who competed. It is an achievement in itself qualifying for the Clusters and you all put your best foot forward and represented Wakari very well!
