Ka mau te wehi! What a fabulous performance from our Teina Kapa Haka!
Heather Bonney - November 22, 2023
All year the Junior learners who have opted in to Kapa Haka have been on a learning journey with Whaea Sue, exploring the different elements of Kapa Haka.
The tamariki did a beautiful job sharing their learning of poi, rākau, haka and waiata on our school stage earlier this term. The Kapa Haka bracket was centered around Te Whare Tapa Whā, our wellbeing. The Teina Kapa Haka tamariki first shared their amazing performance with the rest of the school before then performing for their whānau.
Our Teina learners were supported on stage and in their learning by Senior Syndicate students who are in the Te Reo me te Ao Māori Roopū (Māori language and worldview group with Whaea Sue). We felt very proud seeing our older learners support our younger learners! Tu meke koutou!
