South Island Champions!

Chris Smith —

Congratulations to our Tournament of Minds team and Mrs Gribben who managed to win the Language Literature Challenge a fortnight ago in Christchurch.

It is an action-packed term for our learners and staff. As I write this article the school is buzzing with anticipation for our performance at Polyfest. On Tuesday it was lovely to have Wakari Kindergarten visit us and allow both groups to have a rehearsal before their big moments on stage.

The Classroom Refurbishments are 50% completed. Rooms 10 and 11 have returned to their learning Hub and the smiles on the faces of the children and staff were fabulous to see. Rooms 1, 2, and 3 are still quite some weeks away from completion, we are hoping to move the children back at the end of the first week back next term.

The School Fair is upon us and I hope, as many of you have, that we have had a hands-up approach to helping the Fair be as successful as it can possibly be. Many thanks to the organising committee that have worked tirelessly over the last 6 months to prepare for Sunday. Ensure you have invited friends and family along to enjoy this community event.

Was great to hear very positive feedback from our Middle Syndicate Staff around the Museum sleepover. It is the first experience for many of being away from Mum and Dad on an overnight stay and is a vital part of the progression towards our Year 5 and Year 6 Camps.
