The Wakari Miniball team was lucky enough to get some valuable coaching from Sam Timmins New Zealand Tall Black.

Sam visited Wakari School and spent some time with our own Miniball team, shooting hoops and passing on some invaluable training tips. Sam who has won an American Scholarship to the University of Washington and plays for their team the "Huskies" is one of New Zealand's top Basket ball players.  He has played Centre for our New Zealand Tall Blacks and is the 3x3 world champion for New Zealand.  The children were very lucky to have such an amazing talent come in and spend time with them.  All of the children enjoyed their time with Sam.  Thank you Sam for giving up your time to spend with the children, he even helped out with our Friday sausage sizzle.  A big Thank you to Paula McGookin, one of our fabulous Teacher Aides and Sam's very proud Aunty who organised the visit.
