Home & School —

We want to firstly say a big thanks to all of our school community for getting in behind our regular fundraising events, we really appreciate it and couldn’t do what we do without you. So, how is the money used that you help raise

So far this year we have contributed $2000 towards brand new sports uniforms. Our Wakari School teams look great in the new bright green shorts and t-shirts.

We’ve also spent $1200 on ukuleles. This year ukulele lessons are happening for children of all ages across the school. We’re thrilled to be able to provide the ukuleles to make this happen

We also spent a little bit of money, $125, and a lot of time, 50 hours plus, renovating the sick bay. Thanks to a small group of mums who have given it a makeover and made it a much nicer space for any sick children to be.

Our fundraising events this year have included two school discos which raised approximately $900. These are great events that the children love. Thanks for your support by transporting and chaperoning.

We are currently reviewing how we run discos so if you have any feedback we would be interested. Please contact Amy Manning at chloe_jane01@hotmail.com or private message us through the Wakari School Fair page on Facebook.

We had a very yummy and successful Easter raffle which raised $1300. Thanks to Cadbury’s for the yummy Easter baskets.

Cheese Rolls was one of our major fundraisers for the year. We made close to 1000 DOZEN cheese rolls, using 220kg of cheese, 645 loaves of bread, and raising just over $2000 This is a Really Big Job and can only work if we have the support of our school community to make it happen so a big shout out to all those who helped on the day, we really appreciate you. And, of course, those who bought our cheese rolls!

Thanks again for the support so far. We’re looking forward to a successful fair again this year, fundraising for some new furniture to create innovative learning spaces for children. Keep an eye on our FB page for all the details!
