Kapa Haka update - Calling all fabulous, talented sewers!

Heather Bonney —

This year we have over 140 children in our Tikanga Wakari team!  This is the biggest group we have ever had for Kapa Haka, and as a result, we need to create more dresses for our amazing female performers.

It is so pleasing to see such a great interest in Kapa Haka from our students, and just fabulous to see so many of children keen to get involved and learn more about Māori and Pasifika arts.

With this record breaking number of children participating in Kapa Haka this year, (and therefore shortage of dresses for our performances), we would very much appreciate it if the wonderful sewers in our community could come together to create more dresses for our children to wear.

If you have sewing knowledge, and are able to spare some time to help us out with our dresses, please contact Heather Bonney - hbonney@wakari.school.nz, or pop into Room 9.

We REALLY appreciate your support!

Please have a look at our Kapa Haka blog to see the wonderful work the children are doing during our Kapa Haka sessions.
