Important news about donations in 2020.

Earlier this year, the Government announced in the 2019 Budget that Decile 1-7 schools can opt into a new funding scheme.

The Wakari School Board of Trustees has approved (in principle) this new funding model, but we need to consult with the community before adopting it.

What does this mean for you as a parent or caregiver? YOU SAVE MONEY!!!

If we adopt this scheme, the school will no longer ask for donations. Other costs like activity fees, swimming fees and Reading Eggs will no longer be asked for. The average family (who previously paid the donation) will save around $236 for one child, and $201 for every sibling.

Stationery, sports fees and camp fees are still payable. We have introduced a performance fee which covers any shows or performances the children attend. This is only $15 per child per year. Attached is a example of what you could save.
