What a great School to be involved in!

Chris Smith —

We are nearly at the end of Week 4 of our final term and the children are going great guns.

Last Wednesday the Board and staff had our final Professional Development day with Mark Osborne. We are well on our way for our planning for the forthcoming year and our upcoming Teacher Only Day, being held on Monday 20 November, will be used by Syndicate Leaders to drill into the How and What for 2018. A big part of the "Why" lives around the following;

  • When teachers teach together students are more likely to see improved outcomes. Additionally, co-teaching improves teacher problem-solving, professional development, job satisfaction and the creation of social capital.

This coming Monday we welcome back Mrs Georgie Bond to work in our New Entrant hub for the remainder of 2017. The Board continues to support excellent teacher pupil ratios at its own expense.

Thanks to those parents who have made contact with their current Syndicate Leader around arrangements for next year. Please remember we cannot act on information we do not have. It is also really important to inform us now if you do not intend to be at Wakari for 2018.

Congratulations to those athletes that attended the North Zone Sports on Tuesday, we will soon be informed how many were successful in gaining qualification for the Otago Champs to be held on Tuesday 21 November. We will disperse all relevant info once we have received it.

Keep an eye on the calendar as we have lots going on for our learners.

Kind Regards

Chris
