Read Room 7's interesting writing

Caroline Brown —

In Room 7 we have been working on creating tension in a story by using descriptive language and different sentence starters. Hopefully we give you some goosebumps with our writing!

The scratching gets quieter and then louder. I find it fascinating but it's kinda scary. As I keep listening I couldn't bear not getting up and having a look. So I took my blankets off and got out of bed. I slowly tiptoed my way all around my bed and right across the humongous room and when I finally got to the window the scratching stopped! I ran back to my bed and hid under the blankets. Then the scratching started again. I got back up and walked back to the window. I was really really nervous. I slowly kneeled down so whatever was there couldn't see me. I stood back up, my toes were shivering, my face went bright red because of how scared I was. I regretted my decision of going over to the window. I stood to the side and pulled the curtain open slightly. I looked through the tiny gap! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!      By Milly

The scratching got louder and louder. I slowly crept towards the window. I opened the window to find a three headed dog from the neighbour's standing there with its tongue hanging out.  “Fluffy!” I screamed. I ran outside to hug her and she covered me in slobber.    By Lilly T

The Midnight Monster.

The scratching grew louder, and louder, and even more louder. And then it suddenly stopped. I could hear faint footsteps outside my terrifying window. Even though they could’ve left, I stayed put. And it was lucky that I stayed in my cosy bed because all of a sudden an odd noise came from my window. Someone or something started ferociously pounding at my window. 5 minutes had already passed when the pounding came to a halt. This time I decided to make my move. I slowly got out of my cosy bed and tiptoed over to my chilling window. I paused because I still wasn’t sure about what I was going to do in just a few seconds. I pulled my curtains, and to my surprise I saw nothing. Not even one of my mischievous cats. But as I turned around to walk back towards my bed I was alarmed! What I saw standing in front of me made me scream my head off...      By Roree

You're in your bedroom at 8:30pm. Suddenly you hear a scratching sound on the window. You do not know what is out there in the cold darkness of the night. Screech screech! You go downstairs to tell your parents. Your parents are gone! You hear the door close, then lock and suddenly the lights turn off. Out the corner of your eye in a slim amount of light you see footprints and then you hear a sudden growling noise.

You look around. You see these red circles appear and disappear. You realise they are eyes of the animal. You hear a fancy car sound. You recognise it as your car. You think your mum and dad probably knew about the mysterious beast and left you behind. You realise you do not know where the monster is but then you do.     By Tristin

Scratch.... I opened my eyes. I was half asleep and I had heard this noise. Scratch,Scratch. There it was again but slightly louder. I sat up on my bed and looked wearily to where the sound came from. Scratch, scratch, scratch! It came from the window. SCRATCH! It got louder and louder until I decided I should go and have a look.

I quietly got out of bed and put my feet on the brown, creaky, wooden floor. Scratch!!! The sound kept getting louder as I sneaked to my bedroom window. Scratch, scratch, scratch! I gripped the curtains with my bare hands. My hands were hot and sweaty, I was really worried about what might be on the other side of the curtains. The curtains were a beautiful burgundy colour but they were also very dusty because nobody had thought of taking care of them. Now they were a yucky brown colour, but I didn’t care about what the curtains looked like or what they seemed to look like. I cared about what was on the other side of them.    So I looked…    By Adelie

“ Come on Maddy don’t be a chicken... bcock bbcock,” said Esme. “ I’m not a chicken,” bellowed Maddy.  So they walked in to the old mouldy smelling house. “ MADDY HELP!” trembled Esme. “Where are you?” she said as thoughts began to pop up in her head. I don’t know it’s so dark," said Esme.   "Ahhhhhh!"            By Madison C

I heard scratching on my window. I went over to my window and opened the blinds. All that was in my head was run... so I did! I tripped down the stairs and passed out. When I woke up…. By Quinn
