The children in Rooms 4 and 5 have enjoyed exploring their creativity with Poetry on Friday mornings.

In our Hub we have been looking at a variety of Poetry forms and giving the children the opportunity to dazzle us with their fabulous ideas and imagery.  We started our sessions with "If poems", and after a week of rather torrential rain we decided to be raindrops.  We had dancing raindrops in clouds, others sliding down rainbows and some naughty raindrops dropping onto noses and down the back of children's coats.

Lucy's raindrop was going to "dance into a river and go with it to the sea." Setar decided his raindrop would "land on a slide and race down it."

We also explored colour poems and our own version of farewelling winter. Here are some of the children's poems including two of our Year 1 children, Maleika and Macklin.

Red like flaming hot wood burning in a campfire.

If I was a raindrop,                                                                                  

I'd dance in the air and sing.

I'd hear dolphins jumping out of the water.

I'd see my prey.
