Hills Cluster Hospital Rebuild Expo

Chloe Barton —

After months of hard work across the school to come up with new 'out of the box' ideas for the Dunedin Hospital Rebuild, Wakari children shared their process and final designs with the community and Dunedin Hospital experts.

Our app was for children in hospital who can't go to school. We made an app using Augmented Reality to create an alphabet that you can learn your letters and sounds with. The hardest part of our project was connecting all the pictures of our app together. - Ella, Room 12.

Me and Tommy enjoyed welcoming people into the expo and sharing our app with them all. All of the visitors were impressed with our ideas! - Sophie, Room 12.

Alise and I made a vending machine because when kids are in hospital they might miss their favourite toy so they can get their toy out of the vending machine. Attaching all the wires was really tricky and measuring the correct sizes for our final product. - Emma, Room 12.

My app is for when you are in hospital and you are missing lots of school. Your teacher will upload all your work for you to do when you can. You can also zoom your friends, teacher and principal. - Lani, Room 12.
