More poetry from Room 8

Katy Fitzgerald —

Room 8 students have been working collaboratively to create poems. Here are 2 of them:

1. Autumn:

Outside I hear crunching leaves and whistling wind.

I hear icy hail falling on top of my roof,

Tui chirping in the breeze of autumn.

The weather is a mixture of cold and warm.

I smell hot chocolate and soup.

Friends’ houses and school are the places you go in autumn.

I quickly put on my jersey, pants and puffer jacket.

Leaves fall off the trees.

The trees have become naked.

I see red.

I see orange.

I see green.

I see yellow.

I look around and see squirrels and chipmunks collecting acorns.

It starts to get cold so I decide to walk home, on the way I smell yummy pumpkin pies.
