Ginger Beer

Room 14 and 15 are making our own ginger beer. 

So far we have made the ginger beer bug. We got a big glass jar and we have put ground ginger, eight sultanas, sugar, lemon pulp and lemon juice into it. Then we had to mix it with a spoon. Then we got to smell it. It smelt like rotten ginger. It had to ferment for 3 days. The jars had a tea towel for a lid that is tied with a rubber band. We had to put the jar had to be put in a warm shady spot to ferment for two weeks. We will feed our bug each day with sugar and ginger. In two weeks we will mix the bug with water and sugar and bottle it. We will each get one bottle of ginger beer. Yummo! By Marlie and Will
