18 Wakari children had the opportunity to compete at the Otago Athletics competition on Tuesday.

Another gorgeous Dunedin day for the Otago Athletics. Wakari was well represented by 18 keen children, who achieved some amazing results. Many thanks to the children's whanau for their support of their children.

Here are some highlights from the day:

Mason F won both the U11 boys shot put and discus. He broke the Otago Athletics record in shot put by throwing an enormous 10.71m!!

Charlotte A won the U11 girls shot put.

Sloane won the U10 girls long jump.

Fleur won the U10 girls 60m sprint final.

The U10 girls relay team came second in the finals.

Congratulations to all our competitors who ran, threw and jumped so well. We are very proud of everyone who competed.

But, most importantly, the biggest hit of the day was the ice cream truck, which was enjoyed by many after a hot day competing in the sun.
