Term 3 starts with a hiss and a roar!

Admin —

Welcome to Term 3

Great to see the sun more frequently and the daylight starting to lengthen.

I feel somewhat removed writing this article as I am yet to return to school since prolapsing a disc in my back on the last Saturday of the holidays.

Congratulations to all the runners that competed on Monday in our School Cross Country. By all accounts some excellent efforts and victories. Thanks to all those that supported the kids to give their best and to Mrs Lawson and the staff for running the event. Mrs Lawson, in conjunction with other staff, will now select those runners to attend the Hills Cross Country at Balmacewen Intermediate scheduled for Monday the 14th of August beginning at 1 pm.

There's lots  happening on the performing arts front this term with various Syndicate productions/events including; Stars on Stage, Kapahaka and Pacifica Festival, Junior Production, Middles Variety Performance and Uke Jam. Please encourage your children to practise at home to alleviate nerves on the day.

Our Education Review Office report is now online and you can view it here, here are a couple of snippets for you:

"This school has many processes that effectively enable the achievement of equitable and excellent outcomes for children. A strength is the highly respectful and inclusive school culture that provides a positive learning environment for children, families/whānau and staff. ""The involvement of families and whānau in their children’s learning is highly valued by trustees, leaders and teachers. This has led to increased levels of participation in school programmes and activities by families and whānau."I look forward to returning to all the smiling faces soon.

Regards Chris
