Well Drilled

Chris Smith —

Brian Adams shares his knowledge with some of our Junior Syndicate children as he drills to test the soil in the proposed location of our new build.

What a fabulous afternoon Monday was for the runners that took part in our School Cross Country. Some notable speedsters along with several competitors that exemplified perseverance and persistence. Also, I would like to congratulate all those that took part and successfully conquered taking on a challenge that may have been well out of their comfort zone.

Tama tu tama ora, tama noho tama mate

An active person will remain healthy while a lazy one will become sick

This week we welcomed back our five final year University of Otago College of Education student teachers. COVID has limited their time in our school and has led to enforced changes around posting schedules. Our college teachers will be with us for two significant blocks this term, working alongside their associate teachers.  We wish them all the best for the remaining time at Wakari.

Notices have been sent home in regards to our upcoming parent-teacher interviews happening in under a fortnight. Please get these returned to your child's teacher by tomorrow.

An exciting term for our learners as we tackle the hospital rebuild through Project-Based Learning, thanks to all teachers for the work in preparing what will be a high-interest topic for the children.

Thanks to Michael Smith - Business Development and Events Manager at Sport Otago for giving Wakari School some tickets to distribute to our families for this weekend's Highlanders game.

As always if I can be of assistance please pop in to see me.

Regards

Chris
