Literacy Quiz

Caroline Brown —

Recently some Senior students took part in a worldwide literacy quiz.

The Literature Quiz is a Year 6-8 world wide competition where you have to read as many books as you can. Then there’s a competition and there are different categories. And you can play a “wild card” and you can choose a category to get double points. If you win the Regionals you go to Wellington and if you win that you get $1000 for the plane ride for Internationals in Canada! We put our wild card on body parts - we regretted it and wished we went with birthdays. My favourite category was birthdays and my least favourite one was America mainly because it was too hard. Wakari came 13th place overall but in the primary section we came 3rd. It was really fun and I’d definitely do it again!
