Home & School News

Home and School —

The Home and School Committee is a group of parents who have dedicated their time to volunteer and fundraise for the school. The money that we typically fund raise for is to subsidise things like counselling services, school camp including the year 4 museum sleepover and year 5 and six school camps. This year we have funded sports equipment within the school and other resources such as Kapa Hapa uniforms and sports uniforms. Our recent disco was a huge success and the home and school committee is grateful for the turnout that we had. Covid has made it exceptionally challenging to come together as a community and this was evident in the large number that attended the junior disco. We appreciate the support from the teachers and parents. Thank you for your time and effort in selling honey and pies, we again made a good profit on these which will go towards resources within the school including funding sports equipment for the juniors.

In term four we will be running a Christmas raffle, selling calendars with your children’s art, and juices for those hot summer days. Juices are $10 per box and there is a combination of flavours. We hope you continue to support our fundraisers in this challenging financial time.

Finally, if anyone would like to consider joining the Home & School Committee our group of volunteers would be forever grateful to have more hands. We meet once a month for one hour on a Wednesday night if you're interested in joining please email homeandschool@wakari.school.nz or get in touch with Ingrid Roberts, Michelle Ludlow or Anita Cheshire to find out more.
