Last month our Kapa Haka group, Tikanga Wakari, were invited to perform at the Flagstaff Community Church Matariki Celebration.

Our students did a fabulous job representing Wakari School at a Matariki Festival held at the local Flagstaff Community Church during the first weekend of the school holidays.  Our group (who were from our Tuakana Kapa Haka group - the older student group), performed three songs to a very appreciative audience.  The reverend Brendon said that we were the highlight of the service! There were some former Wakari School students in the audience who just loved seeing the current Wakari students in action, doing their school proud. Ka mau te wehi! (Awesome work!)
