Space Explorers Found at the Museum

5, 4, 3, 2, 1..........BLAST OFF. Room 8 rocketed off to learn about space.

On Tuesday 8th August the room 8 learners embarked on a journey into space by visiting the Planetarium at the Otago Museum.  After sitting back in the large large comfortable chairs, the room became dark and our journey began with images being projected onto the curved ceiling. We were 'whisked away' into space seeing our moon the sun and planets up close. We enjoyed seeing patterns of stars being made into pictures (constellations).  The children learnt a lot and we may have some budding astro-physicists. Our trip concluded with an exciting experience in the multi media room where we could manipulate images using hand gestures in a green laser light.
