It was fabulous to see so many members of our Wakari School Community brave the chilly July evening to come and be part of our first ever Matariki Celebration at Warkari School!

The talented artists at Wakari School created amazing lanterns which made a wonderful atmosphere in our school hall for our Matariki celebration last term. There were also beautiful Matariki inspired artworks on the walls of the school hall to mark the event.

Some representatives of our Kapa Haka did themselves proud by welcoming our families with some beautiful waiata and our school haka.

We were very thrilled to have Kylie Karawana share some of her knowledge about the Matariki star cluster with our school community! We had a lovely evening celebrating together and learning more about Matariki.
