Skipping through the Term

Chris Smith —

A curriculum that meets the needs of all our learners is so important to us achieving our Vision of Happy, Confident Learners.

The diversity that children now get to enjoy at Wakari is something that I, and the Board, are very proud of. The array of learning, sporting and performing opportunities continue to make this a great school for all of our children.

Congratulations to the pupils that qualified and then competed so well at the Hills Cluster Cross Country last week. We have had 10 children qualify to attend to upcoming Otago Champs, which in my memory is definitely a large group from our school. Well done to those children that made the most of the training opportunities at school.

As I write this article, 30 keen musicians are boarding a bus to perform at the 'uke jam' this year held at the town hall. My thanks to Mrs Gribben and the senior syndicate teachers for preparing the children so well.

The Poly fest and Stars on Stage events are fast approaching. These events are highlights of the year for many of the children and your support around costumes and practising at home are much appreciated.

Our building work in Rooms 10 and 11 continues and seems to be on track to be completed in two weeks at which point we will relocate the children from Rooms 1, 2, and 3 around the school and replicate the refurbishment in that area.

As always if I can be of support let me know.

Regards Chris
