Magic in the Middle Syndicate

Lisa Lowden —

The Middle Syndicate have been getting crafty on a miniature scale making some lovely items for their fairy house and gardens habitats.

With a project partner the children have opted into mini workshops on how to make items for their fairy/wizard gardens and habitats. These workshops have so far included washing lines, tables and chairs, plants and vegetables, ladders and doors.

Teachers have been impressed with the way the children are working collaboratively with their project partner.  The children came up with some key elements that a good project partner needs to do.

1) Listen to each others ideas.

2) Talk nicely to each other.

3) Be kind and take turns.

4) Share the work load.

5) Someone you can work sensibly with.

6) Offer your ideas and skills.

7) Can compromise.

To choose their project partners the children interviewed three children and spoke about why they would be a good project partner (after some role modelling from teachers). They then chose who they would work with.

We look forward to sharing with you our completed projects in the weeks to come.
