Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival —

We are bringing some fantastic children’s authors and illustrators to the Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival this autumn (9-12 May). Here is a wee taste:

VILLAINS & GRANNIES

What happens when you throw villains and grannies together? And are they mutually exclusive?

We’ll find out when Eric Veillé (author of Encyclopedia of Grannies) meets up with Clotilde Perrin (author of Inside the Villains) for a storytelling/drawing session.

Veillé’s charmingly quirky book about grandmas answers vital questions about hot topics like hairstyles, face creases, flexibility, hearing and knitting; Perrin’s book, meanwhile, takes a peek (literally, with lift-the-flap cleverness) inside three fairy-tale villains: the wolf, the giant and the witch.

Don’t miss this chance to see two of the world’s brightest picture book talents. Grandmas very welcome (villains, not so much).

WHEN: Thursday 9 May, 3.30pm – 4.30pm

WHERE: Dunedin Public Art Gallery
