Last week Frank from the DCC came to our school to teach us about the Dunedin water supply and show us what pollution can do to our water.

The Room 1 learners had a very interesting time learning about our water system.  Frank from the DCC had a special table which turned into a town and he used this to talk to us about our water supply.  He showed us how our water comes from rivers and streams.  Frank also showed us what pollution can do to our water supply.  Frank used dye and dish detergent to represent pollution and then we used a water spray bottle as rain to see what would happen to our water supply with this pollution in our town.  We noticed that the pollution went straight into the streams and rivers! It really got us thinking about what we could do to help protect our water ways.
