Future Focuses for Wakari School

Chris Smith —

2016 is still the focus for teachers and students but planning has also begun for the coming years.

Our Board has spent the majority of the last month redefining our Strategic and Annual Plans; the guiding documents for our school. We have agreed on the direction we are heading as a school and some of the actions to ensure we continue to deliver a high-quality education and environment for our learners.

Last week the Senior Leadership Team comprising of myself, Mrs Gribben, Mrs Brown, Mrs Lowden, and Mrs Stanbridge spent a couple of days offsite discussing the strategic focus for the upcoming year and reflecting upon what had gone well and not so well in 2016.

Shortly this will be discussed with staff via Syndicate release days which prove invaluable for our teachers. Key messages, collaborative themes, and guidance around delivering the best for our learners are some of the topics for discussion on these days.

We have made some changes to the structures of our Leadership group with Mrs Gribben coming out of Room 13 to take on some other targeted work across the school. I thank Mrs Gribben for her willingness to give this a crack and have a strong belief that her role across various areas will prove a positive move for Wakari.

Requests for your children in regards to next years class placements need to be discussed with Syndicate Leaders by Monday the 14th of November. New Entrants and Year 1's arrangements through Mrs Stanbridge, Year 2 and 3 arrangements through Mrs Lowden and Year 4 and 5 arrangements through Mrs Gribben.

Kind Regards

Chris Smith
