Lucy Newton —

This term, the children in Miss Newton's writing class have spent some time learning about poetry. We decided to write senses poems about one of our favourite seasons. We learnt about our five senses and how we can use these to describe either summer or winter. We used canva to publish our poems, and we are so proud at how they turned out!

Summer looks like beautiful flowers in the meadow. Summer sounds like giggling on the trampoline with my sister. Summer feels like soft wet sand as I walk through water. Summer tastes like ice blocks. Summer smells like a Christmas BBQ. I love Summer.

Winter looks like snow falling out of the white foggy sky. Winter sounds like blowing cold wind on you. Winter feels like cold ice cubes. Winter smells like cold and freezing air straight up my nose. Winter tasks like a hot milo. My favourite season is the cold, icy, foggy winter.

Summer looks like kid swimming in the pool. summer sounds like an ice cream truck. Summer feels like sand under my feet. Summer smells like beautiful flowers. Summer tastes like yummy hot chocolate. Summer is the best season in the world.

Summer looks like the nice, warm water in the hot tub. Summer feels like the hot sand on my feet. Summer tastes like chocolate ice cream. Summer sounds like children having fun. Summer smells like the warm hot chocolate. Summer is my favourite.
